1. I/We have been informed, in my/our language, that Karunashraya is only a Palliative Care centre. No form of curative treatments or any type of cancer specific treatment like radiography/chemotherapy or surgery is performed here. Only pain management and controlling of distressing symptoms arising out of advanced cancer will be treated here.
  

2. The consent of admission is taken from the next kin/relative/any responsible person accompanying the patient in situations where the patient

- may not be aware of the diagnosis and/or prognosis of advanced cancer or

- may be in an altered sensorium/semi conscious/unconscious condition

3. On admission, it is desirable that the patent’s attender stays with the patient for at least 2 days.
 

4. Once the patient’s symptoms are under control or if the patient is requesting discharge, he/she will be discharged.
 

5. Following important regulations have been explained to me/us

• Cardiopulmonary resuscitation is not attempted here

• Oxygen administration is given only if admitted here

• IV Fluid administration only if indicated

• Blood and Blood products are transfused

• Diagnostic Investigation is not done at Karunashraya. If indicated so, then it must be done at their own costs.

•   Alternative medicines will not be given hee, if given will be given at their own risk.
